For decades, those words from my second-grade teacher shaped my reality. I lived under the subconscious belief that I was a broken child who needed to be fixed. I doubted my intelligence, and that doubt led me to bookstores, to libraries, and eventually to a lifelong fascination with neuroscience.
I wanted to know how the brain learns, how it stores information, and—most importantly for the interpreter—how it retrieves it in a moment of crisis.
Today, I am a veteran Spanish-English interpreter and the author of nearly 20 books. I have mastered the very technical vocabularies I was told were beyond my reach. My strength is Cognitive Context. I don't just teach you the words; I teach you how your brain masters the information.
